Camp COVID-19 Guidelines

Are You Ready to Open Camp?

COVID-19 Considerations

Heading into camp season, we are optimistic the pandemic outlook is shifting for the better. If you’re proceeding with in-person camp in 2021, preparation is key to opening safely.

Here are a few COVID-19 precautions camp administrators can take to protect campers, staff and communities:

  • Establish quarantining plans—ideally off-site—for anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or known to have had direct exposure with someone exhibiting symptoms.

  • Adapt group activities to allow for social distancing; eliminate activities that cannot be adapted.

  • Require all staff to get tested before each camp session, and plan to screen everyone at camp on an ongoing basis.

  • Understand all state and local COVID-related mandates, including mask wearing and group sizes.

  • Prepare plenty of sanitizing stations.

For additional COVID-19 safety questions, follow CDC guidelines or contact your county public health officials.
