Berg awarded Church Mutual WLI scholarship
MERRILL, Wis. – CM WLI Women’s Leadership Initiative® (WLI) at Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. (a stock insurer)1 is proud to award a $1,000 scholarship to Rachel Berg, a 2020 graduate of Merrill High School.
Berg will attend Baylor University, majoring in psychology and sociology. She gained leadership skills from her parents, teachers and martial arts training. She put those skills to use in leadership roles with the Junior Optimist Club, National Honor Society and Art Club at Merrill High School, along with volunteering at the Lincoln County Humane Society and working at Pine Crest Nursing Home and Culver’s.
“Each year we are impressed by the quality and drive of the Merrill High School applicants,” said Katherine Ruffi, WLI board member and co-chair of the scholarship program. “Rachel’s focus and history of serving others through leadership is inspiring. We are excited to contribute to her journey and wish her future success.”
WLI also presented a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior at Mechanicsburg High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, hometown to CM Regent Insurance Company®, a member of the Church Mutual family of companies.
Due to COVID-19, the scholarship application process was conducted through virtual presentations and conference calls rather than in-person meetings.
