To use Your Facility as a Shelter

There are a series of steps you should take if you want to use your facility as a shelter. First and foremost, follow the requirements of local building, health and state officials who have control of the area.

You can make sure you are adequately prepared with:

• A roster of names, addresses and telephone numbers of everyone using the facility
• Sleeping areas
• Separate bathrooms and showering facilities for men and women
• Security
• First aid supplies
• Food
• Water
• Blankets
• Toiletries
• Flashlights
• Telephones
• Radios
• Batteries
