It’s natural to want to help others when you see how much damage has occurred after a hurricane; indeed, a lot of money needs to be raised! However, this is also a time where scam artists take advantage of your willingness to give.

It’s best to give to charities you know and trust. Avoid e-mails and Web sites claiming to be relief organizations who ask for charitable donations, or individuals asking for donations to help their family members.
